Spiagge, Pupe e Pallottole is now ranked second in Amazon.ca Italian mysteries.
For a holiday celebration, we gave away Kindle copies of Spiagge, Pupe E Pallottole, the Italian edition of Life’s a Beach Then You Die. I’m very pleased to see the book rose to the position of number one in the free Humor category at Amazon.it.
I credit Valeria Poropat (translator) and Marta Pizzini (editor) for this success. Thank you.
October 19, 2014 is the Ninth Annual Harmonica Championships Festival. It’s a great show. Cheer for Mike Galloway, tell him that Falafel sent you and watch the confused look on his face.
Always something to do in New Smyrna Beach. Now, it’s time for the Bluegrass Festival. It’s also the time Floridians vote on the medical marijuana issue which could lead to a whole different kind of grass festival. Click the image to see the full music schedule.
New Smyrna Beach Sand Art Festival
Event Happens: Jun 14, 2014 (09:00 AM – 03:00 PM)
Sand and water: These are the key elements in sand art, and something in no short supply here in New Smyrna Beach!
With sand so fine, it squeaks when you walk on it and beautiful clear water, it is the ideal combination for a fun, creative day of sandy shenanigans!
Amateur teams will consist of families, friends, co-workers and community groups. All competitors will create their own sand sculptures in 10′ x 10′ plots of cordoned beach. Prizes will be awarded for individual, child and team categories, judged by both professionals and local celebrity judges. Sand art professionals will also create magnificent sculptures, showing off one of our area’s most valued natural resources.
This is a FREE event, however spaces are limited, walk-up registration is also available the day of the event until spaces are filled.
Event will take place on the beach just south of Flagler Avenue beach approach.

I live in Florida on a barrier island. It’s a half mile wide. No matter where you go, you’re no more than 1/4 mile from the Atlantic Ocean or the Intracoastal Waterway. So why is my favorite beach radio station in Western New York State?
It’s simple. The folks at West New York Shore Radio get it. Of course they do. Who would appreciate the splendors of sun and surf more than poor souls stuck in winter weather like western New Yorkers suffer each year?
How do I hear them in Florida? Is it a Gulf Stream phenomenon? No. it’s Internet radio… and it’s free. Is it authentic? You betcha. When I first moved to New Smyrna Beach, one of the first performers I heard live at Toni & Joe’s, a local beachfront bar was Rick Steffen. During my first visit to West New York Shore Radio they played Rick Steffen.
Another nice thing about West New York Shore Radio is their excellent taste in beach reading materials. They reviewed both Life’s a Beach Then You Die and Payback’s a Beach. You can hear the first review about 15:25 into Episode 14 and the second review at about 19:58 in Episode 16.
Is there any quid pro quo here? Nope, just honest appreciation for somebody else’s work. I hope you check them out.
